About Jamal Tylor
Author
Jamal Tylor is a U.S. Army veteran and self-published novelette and flash fiction author from Athens, Georgia. A recipient of the Presidential Service Badge, Armed Forces Service Medal, and Honorable Order of St. Christopher for his eight years of service.
His stories explore mental health, manhood, and healing in Black and veteran communities through direct, simple prose laced with poetic symbolism. Writing is his therapy, a small way to give back, and a means to continue serving by normalizing vital conversations.
His work is available on Barnes & Noble, recognized by the Indie Author Project, and featured in Richmond’s Bilibo collection. When not writing, he enjoys time with family and his two dogs.
